Turning Your Pain and Regret Into Joy

Does pain or regret paralyze you?

John Piper recently tweeted: “Fly this banner over every wound and regret: Satan meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. (Gen. 50:20)”

I have to say loudly with arms waving in the air: Yes!!  Claim this promise and ask God to take whatever pain or regret you have, and bless it and use it for good. I have experienced this first hand; God is amazing at turning our ashes into beauty. Over a decade ago, when those I trusted, hurt me, I had to lay it out before God and ask Him: “What do I do with this experience?” When I experienced the death of a dream, I had to ask God again: “What do I do with this?”

God gave me a new dream and a new hope. My experiences have made me stronger – better able to grieve with those who grieve and rejoice with those who rejoice! I’ve been able to serve Him in impacting the lives of other broken and weary travelers and offer hope when hope is gone.

If you’ve been wrongfully treated and have suffered pain at the hands of others,
God can use that.

If you’ve messed up in the past,
God can use that too!

Pray…

“God, please take this pain and use it for good! I claim your victory in Gen 50:20. I need your help and guidance to do so and I ask that you use my pain and turn it into joy!! In Jesus’ name, Amen!”
