Past Regrets Taking Up Space?

Why do we dwell on past regrets?

It’s often because we believe a lie that happiness and peace come from our external actions and circumstances, rather than from the Holy Spirit within us. (Galatians 5)

When I dwell on the past through regret, it’s because I still think that these poor or unmade choices negatively affect my current peace, happiness, and self-satisfaction.

We wrongly believe that God cannot redeem our past.

We still think we are in control of our lives, and our actions are more powerful than God.

The most beautiful thing we can do is hand over to the Lord every regret and watch (even already in the Spirit) what He does with them.

Incredible things can begin to happen when we surrender regrets to Him.

We make room for hopes and dreams to take root instead! 🙌

He has a way of turning ashes into beauty!

If we are willing to surrender.

(See Isaiah 61).

Ask the Lord:

Is there a regret in my life you’re inviting me to surrender to you today?

If he highlights one, pass it to him.

You can even ask Him for a glimpse of what would shift if you did!

Healing and true rest are found in His presence. 🌿
