Worn Out?

Isaiah 40: A Word for This Season

This morning, I hopped on a Zoom with our Coaches to pray for each other and found myself reading over them a portion of Isaiah 40 in The Passion Translation.

And wow… what a timely passage for this season as we lead women around the world.

A Comforting Whisper for the Weary

We’ve already been meditating this summer with women over this:

“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
— Isaiah 40:1 TPT

It feels like a holy whisper.

As if the Father is leaning in, saying:

“I know. I see the weight you’ve been carrying.
Let Me comfort you—truly comfort you.”

When Life Feels Like Too Much

This past season—for many of those we’ve been walking with—has been heavy.

Uncertainty. Change. Grief. Waiting.

And sometimes, even in our spiritual practices, we can feel worn thin. We serve, pray, believe… and still feel tired. Drained. A bit undone.

But Isaiah 40 meets us right there—in the middle of the fatigue.

“He empowers the feeble and infuses the powerless with increasing strength.”
— Isaiah 40:29 TPT

For Those Who Feel Forgotten

Perhaps the most stunning part is verse 27, where God speaks to the one who feels overlooked:

“Why then, O Jacob’s tribes, would you ever complain?
And my chosen Israel, why would you say,
‘Yahweh isn’t paying attention to my situation.
He has lost all interest in what happens to me’?

— Isaiah 40:27 TPT

Sigh. How many times have we said that, even if silently?

“God, are You even paying attention?”

And He replies not with rebuke—but with reassurance:

“Don’t you know? Haven’t you been listening?
Yahweh is the one and only everlasting God,
the Creator of all you can see and imagine!
He never gets weary or worn out.
His intelligence is unlimited;
He is never puzzled over what to do!”

— Isaiah 40:28 TPT

Strength for the Wait

Then, this promise—so familiar, yet so fresh this morning:

“But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace
will experience divine strength.
They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles,
run their race without growing weary,
and walk through life without giving up.”

— Isaiah 40:31 TPT

Friend, if you’re in a waiting season…
If you feel weak, overlooked, or just tired…

This is for you.

Let Him comfort you.
Let Him empower you.
Let Him carry you today.

A Prayer for the Weary

Lord, thank You that You never grow weary.
Thank You that when I feel weak or lost, You speak comfort—not condemnation.
Today, I rest in Your strength. I receive Your grace.
Let my soul rise like an eagle. Let me run again—with You leading the way.
Amen.

He sees you.
He strengthens you.
He hasn’t forgotten.

Wait in His grace, comfort and strength.
