🎈 Soaring High: Up in the Spirit’s Wind 🌬️🎈

I’ve been thinking about the pictures I keep getting in prayer – about my life as a captivating hot air balloon, ascending higher in the vast sky. Yet, there’s a catch – those weights! They represent the sin and entanglements that hold us down, preventing us from soaring to new spiritual heights.
Isaiah 55:8-9 (AMP) says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
God invites us to rise above, to soar into His realm, but often, we’re tethered by the weight of worldly desires and distractions. The Apostle Paul in Galatians 5:16-26 (AMP) encourages us to live by the Spirit, relinquishing the works of the flesh that bind us. The Holy Spirit yearns for us to live freely and fruitfully in love, joy, peace, and self-control.
Colossians 3:2 (AMP) encourages us: “Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth.”
It’s a call to recalibrate our perspective, fixing our gaze on the eternal rather than the temporary.
Picture shedding these weights, casting off the burdensome sin and worldly desires, much like a balloonist discarding the sandbags. As we let go of these entanglements, we rise higher, propelled by the Spirit’s wind, gaining heavenly perspective.
Hebrews 12:1-3 (AMP) likens this journey to a race, encouraging us to lay aside every encumbrance and sin which so easily entangles, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of faith. It’s about running with endurance, releasing the weights that hinder our ascent.
In Matthew 16:19 (AMP), Jesus grants us authority to bind and loose: “Whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.”
Imagine releasing those weights in prayer, surrendering the sins that hinder, granting heavenly access to God’s transformative power.
ACTIVATION:
Digest Isaiah 53 in the Amplified Version. Just wow! It clearly articulates the great exchange of the cross – our sin for freedom!
What He has for us is far greater than we could dream of…
Ephesians 3:20 (AMP): “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.”
Read through the 2 lists in Galatians 5:16-26 (flesh vs Holy Spirit fruit).
Take a moment to pause and ask the Lord:
What sandbags are in my life? Lies I’m believing? What are worldly desires I have that are getting in the way of going up higher with you?
Whatever comes to mind, surrender those things to Him. Confess it to Him. Ask Him what He wants to give you instead.
So, my friend, let’s soar higher together in this next year! Embrace the journey of releasing those sandbags, allowing the Spirit’s wind to carry us into God’s higher perspective. Let’s pray boldly, letting go of the weights, and embracing the freedom that comes from praying in agreement with God’s heart, in alignment with heaven.
